In August of 2004, this B-17 was recovered after spending 57 years underwater in a lake in Canada, and ended up in Douglas, Georgia. We went down there in December for two weeks to help clean up the airframe, and prepare it for storage pending restoration. Details and pictures of that trip are here.

While not a project of ours per se, We did spend a couple of days in Kissimmee, Florida doing whatever we could to help get the Liberty Belle ready for it's maiden flight. (Mainly it was moving airplanes:) Pictures of that trip are here.

Mike Kellner and friends have been restoring a B-17, 41-2595 the Desert Rat in Marengo, Illinois for the last 10 years. Marengo Metal Works was started to capitalize on this experience in large scale restoration projects. The Desert Rat is still here in the shop, and work continues on it. Details are here.
